Bella Poarch, born on 9 February 1997 in the Philippines to Filipino biological parents. She was adopted at the age of three by her grandmother, living in slums. The father of her adoptive family is white American with military experience and her mother who adopted her is Filipino. She claims she, her adopted brother and their mother suffered abuse as children until she entered the military. Following a brief time in San Francisco, her family moved to Texas to help her father undergo a bypass operation. Her mother says that the physical violence subsided within a couple of months but she was still forced to deal with psychological abuse by her father. After turning 18, she enlisted in her first service in the United States Navy. Poarch started her TikTok page in April of 2020. In less than 8 months, she had amassed nearly 40 million followers. Her videos were uploaded in a variety of formats, however the most popular was a music video featuring Millie B's viral song Soph Aspin Send. The singer lip-synched and danced to the music in a zoomed-out video. Following her joining TikTok the site, she set up a YouTube account and an Twitter one in order to boost her popularity. Poarch reached her peak of fame in the month of December. According to reports, she drew the attention of two big professional Esports groups. 100 Thieves and FaZe Clan expressed interest in hiring her to create content for the respective brand names.
